P2279 - Intake Air System Leak

P2279 - INTAKE AIR SYSTEM LEAK

Description:  This DTC indicates the engine was overproducing torque and overcharging the traction battery when its operating temperature was within normal range. To protect the traction battery the PCM disabled the fuel injectors.
Possible Causes: 
  • Intake air system leak
  • Positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) system
Diagnostic Aids:  This DTC is informational only. Check for any unmetered air leaks. Diagnose any intake air system related DTCs.
