P0A01 - Motor Electronics Coolant Temperature (MECT) Sensor Circuit Range Performance

P0A01 - MOTOR ELECTRONICS COOLANT TEMPERATURE (MECT) SENSOR CIRCUIT RANGE PERFORMANCE

Description:  The transaxle control module (TCM) continuously monitors controller area network (CAN) communication bus for MECT message from the powertrain control module (PCM). This DTC indicates that the MECT message received from the PCM is not within the TCM calculated temperature range, based on other TCM inputs.
Possible Causes: 
  • Damaged MECT sensor
  • MECT harness issues
  • Damaged PCM
  • Damaged TCM
Diagnostic Aids:   
Application  Key On Engine Off  Key On Engine Running  Continuous Memory
