VECI Acronym Definitions

  1. ALVW: Adjusted Loaded Vehicle Weight, curb weight plus GVWR divided by 2.
  2. BBL: Barrel
  3. CALIFORNIA ARB: California Air Resource Board
  4. CARB: California Air Resource Board
  5. CARB LEV: Low Emission Vehicle
  6. CARB TLEV: Transitional Low Emission Vehicle
  7. CARB ULEV: Ultra Low Emission Vehicle
  8. CARB ZEV: Zero Emission Vehicle
  9. EPA: Environmental Protection Agency
  10. EVAP: Evaporative Emissions
  11. GVW: Gross Vehicle Weight
  12. GVWR: Gross Vehicle Weight Rating, curb weight plus payload.
  13. LDV: Light Duty Vehicle, generally passenger cars and light trucks under 6,000 pounds GVWR.
  14. LVW: Loaded Vehicle Weight, curb weight plus 300 pounds.
  15. MY: Model Year
  16. OBD: On Board Diagnostic
  17. ORVR: On-Board Refueling Vapor Recovery
  18. SULEV: Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicle
  19. Tier 0: California and Federal regulations effective prior to Tier 1 phase in dates.
  20. Tier 1: California regulations beginning with 1993 model year and Federal regulations beginning with 1994 model year.
  21. LEV: Low Emission Vehicle
  22. ZEV: Zero Emission Vehicle
  23. PZEV: Partial Zero Emission Vehicle
  24. ULEV: Ultra Low Emission Vehicle
  25. ILEV: Inherently Low Emission Vehicle
