Test A: The Message Center Is Not Operating Correctly - DTE Displays Co

Disconnect message center harness connector C928. Disconnect fuel level sensor harness connector C415. Measure resistance in Yellow/White wire between message center harness connector C928 terminal No. 15 and fuel level sensor harness connector C415 terminal No. 8. See Fig 1 and Fig 2 . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, diagnose fuel level sensor input. See TEST C under SYSTEM TESTS in ANALOG INSTRUMENT PANELS - EXPEDITION & NAVIGATOR article. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Yellow/White wire and test system operation.
