Pinpoint Test G: DTC P0833 - Clutch Pedal Switch B Circuit - Gasoline

- G1 CHECK THE CPP SWITCH
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: PCM C175b
- While pressing and releasing the clutch pedal, measure the resistance between the PCM C175b-32, circuit 306 (TN/LB), harness side and ground.
- Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms with the clutch pedal pressed, and less than 5 ohms with the clutch pedal released?
- G2 CHECK CIRCUIT 306 (TN/LB) FOR AN OPEN
- Disconnect: CPP Switch C257
- Measure the resistance between the PCM C175b-32, circuit 306 (TN/LB), harness side and the CPP switch C257-4, circuit 306 (TN/LB), harness side.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
- YES : Go to G3.
- NO : REPAIR the circuit. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
- G3 CHECK CIRCUIT 570 (BK/WH) FOR AN OPEN
- Measure the resistance between the CPP switch C257-3, circuit 570 (BK/WH), harness side and ground.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
- YES : Go to G4.
- NO : REPAIR the circuit. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
- G4 CHECK CIRCUIT 306 (TN/LB) FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Measure the resistance between the PCM C175b-32, circuit 306 (TN/LB), harness side and ground.
- Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?
- YES : INSTALL a new CPP switch. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
- NO : REPAIR the circuit. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
- G5 CHECK FOR CORRECT PCM OPERATION
- Disconnect all the PCM connectors.
- Check for:
- corrosion
- pushed-out pins
- Connect all the PCM connectors and make sure they are seated correctly.
- Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
- Is the concern still present?
- YES : INSTALL a new PCM. REFER to ELECTRONIC ENGINE CONTROLS - GASOLINE ENGINES article. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
- NO : The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector.
