Auxiliary Transmission Fluid Cooler - Oil-to-Air Fluid Cooler: Removal

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING article.
Remove the 4 upper grille screws.

Remove the lower retaining clips and remove the grille.

Remove the LH upper auxiliary transmission fluid cooler retaining bolts.

Remove the RH upper auxiliary transmission fluid cooler retaining bolts.

Disconnect the LH lower splash shield pushpin.

Disconnect the RH lower splash shield pushpin.

Remove the 4 lower splash shield pushpins.

Remove the 3 bolts and the LH tow hook.

Remove the 3 bolts and the RH tow hook.
Remove the 2 LH forward crossmember bolts.

Remove the 2 RH forward crossmember bolts and lower the crossmember.

If equipped, remove the power steering cooler bolts and position the power steering cooler aside.

Disconnect the LH lower splash shield pushpin to gain access to the A/C condenser bracket.

Disconnect the RH lower splash shield pushpin to gain access to the A/C condenser bracket.

Disconnect the LH auxiliary transmission fluid cooler oil-to-air (OTA) hose.

Disconnect the RH auxiliary transmission fluid cooler OTA hose.

Remove the LH lower A/C condenser bracket.

NOTE: The auxiliary transmission fluid OTA cooler must be lifted up off the lower frame and moved toward the front of the vehicle so the lower brackets can clear the frame.

NOTE: It is necessary to move the A/C condenser toward the front of the vehicle to remove the auxiliary transmission fluid OTA cooler.

Remove the bolts and the auxiliary transmission fluid cooler.
