Auxiliary Transmission Fluid Cooler - Oil-to-Air Fluid Cooler: Installation

    NOTE: It is necessary to move the A/C condenser toward the front of the vehicle to install the auxiliary transmission fluid OTA cooler.
  1. Install the auxiliary transmission fluid OTA cooler and the bolts.
    • Tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).

  3. Install the RH lower A/C condenser bracket.
    • Tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).

  5. Install the LH lower A/C condenser bracket.
    • Tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).

  7. Connect the RH auxiliary transmission fluid OTA cooler hose.

  9. Connect the LH auxiliary transmission fluid OTA cooler hose.

  11. Connect the RH lower splash shield pushpin.

  13. Connect the LH lower splash shield pushpin.

  15. If equipped, install the power steering cooler and install the bolts.
    • Tighten to 11 Nm (8 lb-ft).

  17. Install the forward crossmember and the 2 RH bolts.
    • Tighten to 80 Nm (59 lb-ft).

  19. Install the 2 LH forward crossmember bolts.
    • Tighten to 80 Nm (59 lb-ft).

  21. Install the RH tow hook and the 3 bolts.
    • Tighten to 80 Nm (59 lb-ft).

  23. Install the LH tow hook and the 3 bolts.
    • Tighten to 80 Nm (59 lb-ft).

  25. Install the 4 lower splash shield pushpins.

  27. Connect the RH lower splash shield pushpin.

  29. Connect LH lower splash shield pushpin.

  31. Install the RH upper auxiliary transmission fluid OTA cooler bolts.
    • Tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).

  33. Install the LH upper auxiliary transmission fluid OTA cooler bolts.
    • Tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).

  35. Install the grille into the 4 lower retaining clips.

  37. Install the 4 upper grille screws.

    CAUTION: Use only MERCON® SP Transmission Fluid to service the TorqShift transmissions. Mixing MERCON® or MERCON® V in a TorqShift transmission may cause transmission damage. Use of any fluid other than the recommeded fluid can cause transmission damage.
  39. Fill the transmission with clean automatic transmission fluid.
