Transmission Range Sensor: Removal

  1. Place vehicle in Neutral. Disconnect negative battery cable. Raise and support vehicle.
  2. For RWD Navigator, remove dampener and bolts.
  3. Remove insulator-to-crossmember support nuts. Remove LH and RH heatshield-to-crossmember bolts.
  4. Attach a jack to transmission. Remove crossmember and bolts. Lower rear of transmission to gain access to sensors.
  5. Disconnect shift cable from manual control lever.
  6. Disconnect Transmission Range (TR), sensor harness connector. Remove manual control lever from shift cable. Remove 2 retaining bolts and TR sensor from case.
