Removal And Installation

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING article.
  2. WARNING: Smoking or open flame of any type must not be present when working near fuel or fuel vapor.
  3. Disconnect both battery ground cables. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES article.
  4. Open the fuel/water separator drain valve to release the fuel pressure.

  6. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
    • Disconnect the fuel pump electrical connector.
    • Disconnect the water-in-fuel electrical connector.

  8. Disconnect the fuel hoses.

  10. Remove the mounting nuts and the fuel conditioning module.
    • To install, tighten to 15 Nm (11 lb-ft).

  12. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
