  • The parking brake engaged warning chime is inoperative

  • Instrument cluster
  • VERIFY the operation of the brake warning indicator in the instrument cluster.
    • If the brake warning indicator operates correctly, INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER article.
    • If the brake warning indicator does not operate correctly, REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER article to continue diagnosis of the brake warning indicator.
  • The safety belt warning chime is inoperative
  • Instrument cluster
  • VERIFY the operation of the safety belt warning indicator in the instrument cluster.
    • If the safety belt warning indicator operates correctly, INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER article.
    • If the safety belt warning indicator does not operate correctly, REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER article to continue diagnosis of the safety belt warning indicator.
  • The safety belt minder feature is not operating correctly
  • Safety belt minder deactivated

  • VERIFY the operation of the safety belt warning indicator in the instrument cluster.
    • If the safety belt warning indicator operates correctly, INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER article.
    • If the safety belt warning indicator does not operate correctly, REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER article to continue diagnosis of the safety belt warning indicator.
  • The key-in-ignition warning chime does not operate correctly

  • Key-in-ignition warning switch
  • Instrument cluster
  • The headlamp on warning chime is inoperative
  • Instrument cluster
  • The air bag warning chime does not operate correctly

  • Restraints control module (RCM)
  • The chime sounds when the driver door is ajar (no key in the ignition and headlamps off)
