Antenna Lead-In Cable: Removal

  1. Remove the antenna base. For additional information, refer to Antenna Base  in this article.
  2. Position the RH front fender splash shield away from the bulkhead.
    • Remove the 2 nuts.
    • Remove the screws.
    • Remove the pin-type retainers.
    • Position the RH front fender splash shield away from the bulkhead.

  3. Remove the pin-type retainer and the lower RH A-pillar trim panel.

  4. Separate the antenna lead-in cable grommet from the bulkhead and pull the excess cable into the passenger compartment.

  5. Remove the audio unit. For additional information, refer to Audio Unit  in this article.
  6. NOTE: This vehicle uses an antenna lead-in cable that is attached to the instrument panel reinforcement and the defroster air duct. Do not remove the original antenna lead-in cable from the vehicle.
  7. Cut and remove the original antenna lead-in cable connectors and excess cable. Secure the remaining cable ends to avoid rattles or identification problems.
