Axle Shafts: Installation

NOTE: When seated properly, the axle shaft bearing retainer circlip can be felt as it snaps into the differential side gear groove.
  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Tighten all fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  2. Install wheel and tire assembly. Tighten lug nuts in sequence to specification. See Fig 1 . See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  3. Fill transaxle to proper level with appropriate fluid. See IN-VEHICLE REPAIR in AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS.
