  1. Remove the driveshaft. For additional information, refer to DRIVESHAFT article.


  1. Remove the rear transmission insulator nuts.

  2. Install a suitable transmission jack.
  3. Remove the rear transmission insulator bolts.

  4. Raise the transmission upward, off the rear transmission insulator and remove the rear transmission insulator.

  5. Disconnect the output shaft speed (OSS) sensor electrical connector.

  1. Remove and discard the extension housing gasket.
