With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING article.
Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES article.
Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION AND FILTERING article.
Remove the throttle body spacer. For additional information, refer to FUEL CHARGING AND CONTROLS - 6.8L (3V) article.
Remove the generator. For additional information, refer to GENERATOR AND REGULATOR article.
Remove the cooling fan shroud. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING article.
If removing the RH engine support insulator, remove the starter. For additional information, refer to STARTING SYSTEM - GASOLINE ENGINES article.
Install the special tools.

Remove the 4 exhaust manifold-to-catalytic converter nuts.

CAUTION: Only use hand tools when removing the transmission mount-to-crossmember nuts or damage to the transmission mount can occur.

Loosen the transmission mount-to-crossmember nuts.

CAUTION: Only use hand tools when removing the engine mount nut or damage to the engine mount can occur.

NOTE: RH shown, LH similar.

Remove the 4 engine mount nuts.
Using the special tools, raise the engine.
