  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING article.
  2. Remove the air cleaner and intake pipe. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION AND FILTERING article.
  3. Remove the generator. For additional information, refer to GENERATOR AND REGULATOR article.


  1. Drain the engine oil.
  2. Remove and discard the oil filter.

  3. Remove the threaded shaft and position the oil cooler aside.

  4. Remove the 2 bolts and position the cooling fan shroud onto the cooling fan.

  5. Install the special tools.

  1. Remove the 16 bolts and partially lower the oil pan.
  2. Remove the 3 bolts and position the oil pump screen and pickup tube into the oil pan.
  3. Remove the oil pan and the oil pump screen and pickup tube.
    • Inspect the oil pan gasket for damage.
    • Discard the oil pan gasket.
    • Discard the oil pump screen and pickup tube O-ring seal.
