Removal And Installation

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING article.
  2. Drain the engine cooling system. For additional information, refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding  in this article.
  3. Disconnect the lower radiator hose.
  4. Remove the retaining clips and disconnect the transmission cooler tube support brackets.

  6. Using the special tool, disconnect the transmission cooler tubes.

  8. Disconnect the upper radiator hose and the radiator overflow hose.
  9. Remove the 2 bolts and separate the cooling fan shroud from the radiator.
    • To install, tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).
  10. Remove the 4 bolts and the 2 radiator support brackets.
    • To install, tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb-in).

  12. Remove the 4 pin-type retainers and pull back the sight shield.

  14. Disconnect the 3 pin-type retainers and 2 wiring harness retainers. Position the cable so that the radiator can be moved forward.

  16. Remove the radiator assembly.
  17. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • Check and top off the transmission fluid level.
