Inspection and Verification

  1. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical and electrical system concerns.
    VISUAL INSPECTION CHART

    Mechanical Electrical
    • Front axle assembly
    • Manual hublocks
    • Shift lever and/or linkage
    • Driveshaft and U-joints
    • Fluid leaks
    • Matching tire size
    • Transfer case
    • Wiring harness
    • Mode indication switch (MIS)
    • Connector(s)
    • Circuitry
  2. Carry out the Mechanical Shift On Stop (MSOS) Functional test. Go to Pinpoint Test F .
  3. If the concern is still present after the MSOS Functional test, go to Symptom Chart .
