Pinpoint Test E: Clutch Pedal Pulsation

  1. E1 CHECK THE CLUTCH PEDAL PULSATION 
    • Key in START position.
    • With the transmission in NEUTRAL, slowly press the clutch pedal.
    • Does the clutch pedal pulsate while being pressed? 
    1. YES  : Go to  E2.
    2. NO  : VERIFY customer concern. Go to Symptom Chart  if necessary.
  2. E2 INSPECT THE CLUTCH PRESSURE PLATE 
    • Remove the clutch pressure plate. Refer to CLUTCH article.
    • Inspect the clutch pressure plate for damage.
    • Are there any signs of damage present on the clutch pressure plate ? 
    1. YES  : INSTALL a new clutch pressure plate. REFER to CLUTCH article.
    2. NO  : Go to  E3.
  3. E3 INSPECT THE CLUTCH DISC 
    • Carry out the Disc Check procedure in this article.
    • Is the clutch disc OK? 
    1. YES  : Go to  E4.
    2. NO  : INSTALL a new clutch disc. REFER to CLUTCH article.
  4. E4 INSPECT THE FLYWHEEL 
    • Inspect the flywheel for damage and runout.
    • Is the flywheel OK? 
    1. YES  : VERIFY customer concern. Go to Symptom Chart  if necessary.
    2. NO  : TIGHTEN or INSTALL a new flywheel as necessary. TEST the system for normal operation.
