Clutch Disc and Pressure Plate: Installation

  1. Adjust the clutch pressure plate as follows:
    • Rotate the adjusting ring counterclockwise until the tension springs are compressed.
    • Hold the adjusting ring, then release the pressure on the clutch pressure plate fingers.

  2. Using the special tool, position the clutch disc on the flywheel.

    NOTE: If installing the original clutch pressure plate, use the index marks made during removal.
  4. Position the clutch pressure plate on the dowels, install the clutch pressure plate bolts and remove the special tool.
    • Tighten to 55 N.m (41 lb-ft).

  6. Install the transmission. For additional information, refer to MANUAL TRANSAXLE/TRANSMISSION article.
    • Before securing the transmission to the engine, install the hydraulic line to the clutch slave cylinder.
  7. Operate the vehicle to check clutch operation.
