Poor reception - satellite audio	Obstructions to the line of sight	DRIVE the vehicle to an open area and TEST the reception. If the reception is OK, INFORM the customer of the normal condition. If the reception is not OK, go to Pinpoint Test J .

Continuous SEEK/SCAN in AM/FM	RDS function setting	VERIFY the RDS is set to ALL. SCAN for a good channel. If a good channel is found, the cause of the concern was that no RDS channel in the selected category was found. The system is OK. If no good channel is found, go to Pinpoint Test B .

No sound from all speakers	Circuitry Audio unit	With the key in any position except START, MEASURE the voltage between the audio unit C290a-15, circuit 1000 (RD/BK) or 325 (DB/OG), harness side and ground. If any voltage is present, REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation. If no voltage is present, SEND the audio unit to an authorized audio system repair facility. TEST the system for normal operation after the repair.
Poor quality/distorted sound from all speakers	Audio unit	REMOVE the audio unit and SEND it to an authorized audio system repair facility. REFER to Audio Unit in this article. TEST the system for normal operation after the repair.
The subwoofer is inoperative/does not operate correctly	Fuse Circuitry Subwoofer Audio unit	Go to Pinpoint Test D .

No sound from the wireless headphones	DUAL PLAY not selected Headphone batteries Headphones DVD player	SIMULTANEOUSLY PRESS the audio unit preset buttons 2 and 4 until the audio unit displays DUAL PLAY. REPEATEDLY PRESS the SRC/PWR button on the DVD player and ADJUST the headphone volume until a source can be heard. If no source can be heard, SUBSTITUTE a known good pair of batteries and then the wireless headphones. REPEAT the above action. If a source can be heard, NOTIFY the customer. The system is operating correctly. NOTE: When the DVD player is unplugged and not replaced, the rear speakers are not connected. If there is still no sound, REMOVE the DVD player and SEND it to an authorized audio system repair facility. REFER to Digital Versatile Disc (DVD) Player in this article. TEST the system for normal operation after the repair.
Intermittent sound from the wireless headphones	Obstructions between the DVD player transmitter and the headphones	Infrared technology is line-of-sight dependant. CLEAR all possible obstructions. TEST the system for normal operation.
	Sunlight washout	Infrared technology is subject to a reduction in effectiveness given extreme exposure to sunlight. If excessive sunlight exposure is suspected, MOVE the vehicle to a shaded or darkened area. TEST the system for normal operation. To verify the condition, RETURN the vehicle to sunlit conditions and RETEST.

If no ABS module DTCs are present, DIAGNOSE any audio unit DTCs. If the symptom is present after all audio unit DTCs are addressed, REMOVE the audio unit and SEND it to an authorized audio system repair facility. REFER to Audio Unit in this article. TEST the system for normal operation after the repair.
