LH cylinder head

  1. If equipped, remove the A/C compressor. For additional information, refer to CLIMATE CONTROL article.
  2. Remove the 2 A/C compressor and power steering bracket brace nuts.
  3. Remove the A/C compressor and power steering bracket brace upper bolt. Loosen the lower bolt and position it forward until it contacts the power steering pulley. Position the A/C compressor and power steering bracket brace aside.
  4. Loosen the remaining A/C compressor and power steering bracket bolt. Position it forward until it contacts the power steering pulley and position the A/C compressor and power steering bracket aside.
  5. Remove the LH exhaust manifold. For additional information, refer to Exhaust Manifold - LH  in this article.
  6. Disconnect the knock sensor (KS) and cylinder head temperature (CHT) sensor electrical connectors. Detach the HO2S electrical connector retainer from the rear of the LH cylinder head.
  7. Remove the push rods from the LH cylinder head. For additional information, refer to Push Rod  in this article.
