Draining, all vehicles not using a suitable flush and fill machine

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING article.
  2. Loosen the transmission fluid pan bolts and allow the transmission fluid to drain.

  4. After the transmission fluid has drained, remove the transmission fluid pan.

  6. Do not remove the transmission fluid filter. It is not necessary to change the transmission fluid filter during a normal maintenance transmission fluid change.
  7. Clean and inspect the transmission fluid pan, transmission fluid pan gasket and magnet.

  9. Thoroughly flush the transmission fluid cooler tubes. For additional information, refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Backflushing and Cleaning  in this article.
