Draining, all vehicles not using a suitable flush and fill machine

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING article.
- Loosen the transmission fluid pan bolts and allow the transmission fluid to drain.
- After the transmission fluid has drained, remove the transmission fluid pan.
- Do not remove the transmission fluid filter. It is not necessary to change the transmission fluid filter during a normal maintenance transmission fluid change.
- Clean and inspect the transmission fluid pan, transmission fluid pan gasket and magnet.
- Thoroughly flush the transmission fluid cooler tubes. For additional information, refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Backflushing and Cleaning in this article.
