  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING article.
  2. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES article.
  3. Remove the throttle body (TB). For additional information, refer to FUEL CHARGING AND CONTROLS - 5.4L (3V) article.
  4. Remove the 3 bolts and position the power steering fluid reservoir aside.

  5. Remove the generator. For additional information, refer to GENERATOR AND REGULATOR article.
  6. Remove the upper radiator sight shield.

  7. Remove the bolts and position the cooling fan shroud away from the radiator.

  8. Install the special tool.

  9. If equipped, remove the 4 bolts and the skid plate.

  10. Remove the 4 exhaust manifold-to-catalytic converter nuts.

  11. Remove the exhaust system support bracket bolts from the crossmember.

  12. Loosen the transmission mount nuts.

  1. Remove the RH engine support insulator nuts and washer.

  2. Remove the LH engine support insulator bolt.

  3. Using the special tools, raise the engine.
