Differential Carrier: Installation

Position the differential assembly in the axle housing.

Install the 2 original removed differential bearing shims in their original positions.

Using the special tool, fully seat the 2 differential bearing shims.

Install the 2 differential bearing caps and the 4 differential bearing cap bolts.
- Tighten to 105 Nm (77 lb-ft).

Rotate the differential assembly to make sure it rotates freely.

Measure the ring and pinion backlash.
Install the axle shafts. For additional information, refer to Axle Assembly in this article.
