P2617 - Crankshaft Position Output Circuit/Open

P2617 - CRANKSHAFT POSITION OUTPUT CIRCUIT/OPEN

Description:  The DTC is set by the powertrain control module (PCM) when no crankshaft position output (CKPO) signal is present while the camshaft position output (CMPO) is active.
Possible Causes: 
  • CKPO circuit noise
  • CKPO circuit open in the harness
  • CKPO circuit short to ground in the harness
  • CKPO circuit short to voltage in the harness
Diagnostic Aids:  Check for the presence of any CKP concerns.
