P0405 - Exhaust Gas RECIRCULATION (EGR) Sensor A Circuit Low

P0405 - EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION (EGR) SENSOR A CIRCUIT LOW

Description:  The powertrain control module (PCM) continuously monitors the EGR valve position circuits for opens and shorts.
Possible Causes: 
  • EGR circuit open
  • EGR circuit short to ground
  • VREF circuit open
  • EGR actuator
  • PCM
Diagnostic Aids:  The condition is continuously being monitored.
Application    Key On Engine Off  Key On Engine Running  Continuous Memory
