P0381 - Glow Plug/Heater Indicator Circuit

P0381 - GLOW PLUG/HEATER INDICATOR CIRCUIT

Description:  The powertrain control module (PCM) measures the glow plug/heater indicator circuit for continuity. When the continuity exceeds programmed threshold, the PCM sets the DTC.
Possible Causes: 
  • Glow plug indicator circuit open in the harness
  • Glow plug indicator circuit short to ground in the harness
  • Glow plug indicator
Diagnostic Aids:  Refer to appropriate INSTRUMENT CLUSTER article.
Application    Key On Engine Off  Key On Engine Running  Continuous Memory
