Pinpoint Test F: A Single Illumination Source Is Inoperative - NONDIMMABLE Illumination Source

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Mercury Milan, 2006 Lincoln Zephyr, and 2006 Ford Fusion. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION: Use the correct probe adaptor(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adaptor(s) may damage the connector.
  1. F1 CHECK CIRCUIT CBP02 (GN) FOR VOLTAGE
    • Disconnect: Inoperable Illumination Source.
    • Key in ON position.
    • Measure the voltage between the inoperable illumination source harness side and ground as follows:
      CONNECTOR - PIN CIRCUIT

Illumination Source Connector - Pin Circuit
LH door lock control switch (Fusion/Milan) C505-2 CBP02 (GN)
RH door lock control switch (Fusion/Milan) C605-2 CBP02 (GN)
      Ashtray C370-2 CBP02 (GN)
Roof Opening Panel Switch C912-1 CBP02 (GN)
    • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?

Yes  : For door lock control switch(es), INSTALL a new door lock control switch. REFER to HANDLES, LOCKS, LATCHES AND ENTRY SYSTEMS .

For  : the ashtray, GO to  F3.

For  : the roof opening panel, GO to  F4.
