Clutch System Bleeding

CAUTION:
To prevent damage do not spill brake fluid onto plastic or painted surfaces.
NOTE:
The fluid in the brake master cylinder reservoir must be maintained at the 3/4 level or higher during air bleeding. Be sure to use the specified High Performance DOT 3 Motor Vehicle Brake Fluid.
NOTE:
The clutch hydraulic system must be bled whenever a clutch master cylinder, clutch slave cylinder tube or hydraulic clutch hose is disconnected.
- Attach a rubber drain hose to the bleeder screw and submerge the free end of the hose in a container partially filled with clean brake fluid.
- Slowly pump the clutch pedal to the floor several times and hold it.
- With the clutch pedal held to the floor, loosen the bleeder screw until fluid and air are expelled from the system.
- With the clutch pedal held to the floor, tighten the bleeder screw.
- Repeat Steps 2 through 4 until no air bubbles appear in the fluid.
- Tighten the bleeder screw.
- Tighten to 7 Nm (62 lb-in).
- Add brake fluid to the reservoir. Fill to the level in between the MIN and MAX lines.
- Check system for normal operation.
