Removal and Installation

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
  2. If equipped, remove the 7 screws and the underbody cover.

  3. NOTE: Lubricate the engine oil filter gasket with clean engine oil prior to installing.
  4. Remove the engine oil filter.
    • To install tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in) and then rotate an additional 180 degrees.
  5. Disconnect the oil pressure sender electrical connector.
  6. Remove the oil pressure sender.
    • To install, tighten to 14 Nm (10 lb-ft).
  7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • Apply pipe sealant with Teflon® to the oil pressure sender threads.
