Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor

Item Specification
Motorcraft SAE 5W-20 Premium Synthetic Blend Motor Oil XO-5W20-QSP (US); Motorcraft SAE 5W-20 Super Premium Motor Oil CXO-5W20-LSP12 (Canada); or equivalent WSS-M2C930-A

    RH sensor 

  1. Disconnect the wiring harness and retainer from the RH valve cover stud and position it aside.
  2. Remove the nut and the radio frequency interference capacitor from the RH valve cover stud and position it aside.
    • To install, tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).
  3. Both sensors 

  4. Disconnect the camshaft position sensor (CMP) electrical connector.
  5. Remove the bolt and the CMP sensor.
    • To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
  6. NOTE: Lubricate the CMP O-ring seal with clean engine oil.
  7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
