Cooling Fan Motor and Shroud

All vehicles

With vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .

2.3L engines

Remove the generator air inlet duct.

All vehicles

If equipped, detach the 3 block heater wiring retainers from the cooling fan motor and shroud and position aside.

Remove the splash shield.

Detach the lower radiator hose bracket from the cooling fan motor and shroud.

3.0L engines

Detach the retainer on the lower radiator hose from the cooling fan motor and shroud.

Automatic transmission vehicles

Detach the transmission cooler tubes from the cooling fan motor and shroud.

All vehicles

Detach the 4 wiring harness retainers and position the harness aside.
Disconnect the cooling fan electrical connector.
Release the 2 tabs and remove the cooling fan motor and shroud.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
