Inspection and Verification: Self-Diagnostics

The navigation system provides internal self-diagnostics to assist with diagnosing vehicle concerns.

Press and hold the 3 and 6 memory preset buttons for 3 seconds.

Press the End Test button on the screen to exit the speaker walk test.

The following diagnostics are available using the on-screen buttons as follows:

AUDIO UNIT DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) INDEX

DTC Description Source Action
B1117 Audio Steering Wheel Button Stuck Audio Unit GO to PINPOINT TEST G .
B1119 DVD Mechanism Thermal Shutdown Fault Audio Unit ALLOW the audio unit to cool. REPEAT the self-test. If DTC B1119 is retrieved again, REMOVE the audio unit. REFER to AUDIO UNIT . SEND the audio unit to an authorized repair facility. TEST the system for normal operation after the repair.
B1136 Audio Steering Wheel Switch #2 Circuit Failure Audio Unit GO to PINPOINT TEST G .
B1140 Map DVD Invalid Audio Unit INSERT a known good navigation map DVD. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test. If DTC B1140 is retrieved again, REMOVE the audio unit. REFER to AUDIO UNIT . SEND the audio unit to an authorized repair facility. TEST the system for normal operation after the repair.
B1317 Battery Voltage High Audio Unit CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the audio unit self-test. If DTC B1317 is retrieved again, REFER to CHARGING SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION to diagnose the charging system. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
B1318 Battery Voltage Low Audio Unit CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the audio unit self-test. If DTC B1318 is retrieved again, REFER to PINPOINT TEST A: THE BATTERY IS DISCHARGED OR BATTERY VOLTAGE IS LOW to diagnose the charging system. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
B1342 ECU is Faulted Audio Unit CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the audio unit self-test. If DTC B1342 is retrieved again, REMOVE the audio unit. REFER to AUDIO UNIT . SEND it to an authorized audio system repair facility. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test after the repair.
B2103 Antenna Not Connected Audio Unit GO to PINPOINT TEST D .
B2204 GPS Antenna Connection Open or Short Audio Unit GO to PINPOINT TEST J .
B2274 Phone Transceiver Active Circuit Failure Audio Unit DTC is not applicable. DISREGARD the DTC. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
B2384 Audio Reverse Park Aid Mute Circuit Failure Audio Unit DTC is not applicable. The park aid mute signal is sent through the controller area network (CAN). DISREGARD the DTC. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
B2404 Audio Steering Wheel Switch Circuit Failure Audio Unit GO to PINPOINT TEST G .
B2405 Audio Disc CD Player Thermal Shutdown Fault Audio Unit ALLOW the audio unit to cool. DISREGARD the DTC. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
B2406 Audio Disc CD Player Internal Fault Audio Unit CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the audio unit self-test. If DTC B2406 is retrieved again, REMOVE the audio unit. REFER to AUDIO UNIT . SEND it to an authorized audio system repair facility. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test after the repair.
B2477 Module Configuration Failure Audio Unit REFER to MODULE CONFIGURATION to continue diagnosis of the module configuration.
B2656 DVD (Digital Versatile Disc) Internal Error Audio Unit REMOVE the navigation map DVD. With a soft cloth WIPE the DVD in outward direction starting from the center. MAKE sure there are no fingerprints or scratches on the DVD surface. INSERT the DVD. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test. If DTC B2656 is retrieved again, INSERT a known good navigation map DVD. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test. If DTC B2656 is retrieved again, REMOVE the audio unit. REFER to AUDIO UNIT . SEND the audio unit to an authorized repair facility. TEST the system for normal operation after the repair.
B2924 (except navigation) Audio Button Stuck Audio Unit CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the audio unit self-test. If DTC B2924 is retrieved again, REMOVE the audio unit. REFER to AUDIO UNIT . SEND it to an authorized audio system repair facility. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test after the repair.
B2924 (navigation) Audio Button Stuck Audio Unit CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test. If DTC B2924 is retrieved again, GO to PINPOINT TEST M .
B2965 Audio System Speaker Circuit Fault Audio Unit GO to PINPOINT TEST E .
C1992 Vehicle Speed Circuit Failure Audio Unit DTC is not applicable. DISREGARD the DTC. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
P0812 Reverse Input Circuit Audio Unit DTC is not applicable. DISREGARD the DTC. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
U0073 Control Module Communication BUS Off Audio Unit REFER to PINPOINT TEST H: THE AUDIO/AUDIO NAVIGATION UNIT DOES NOT RESPOND TO THE DIAGNOSTIC TOOL to continue diagnosis of the communication network.
U1900 CAN Communication BUS Fault - Receiver Error Audio Unit REFER to PINPOINT TEST H: THE AUDIO/AUDIO NAVIGATION UNIT DOES NOT RESPOND TO THE DIAGNOSTIC TOOL to continue diagnosis of the communication network.
U2050 (navigation only) No Application Present Audio Unit REFLASH the audio unit. If the DTC occurs after a software reflash, REFLASH the audio unit again. If the DTC reoccurs after the second attempt to reflash, REMOVE the audio unit. REFER to AUDIO UNIT . SEND the audio unit to an authorized repair facility. TEST the system for normal operation after the repair.
U2051 (navigation only) One or More Calibration Files Missing/Corrupt Audio Unit REFLASH the audio unit. If the DTC occurs after a software reflash, REFLASH the audio unit again. If the DTC reoccurs after the second attempt to reflash, REMOVE the audio unit. REFER to AUDIO UNIT . SEND the audio unit to an authorized repair facility. TEST the system for normal operation after the repair.
U2473 Unexpected Vehicle Speed (VSS) Audio Unit GO to SYMPTOM TABLE - NAVIGATION  to follow symptom-driven diagnostics for the navigation audio unit.
DIGITAL VERSATILE DISC (DVD) PLAYER DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) INDEX

DTC Description Source Action
B1317 Battery Voltage High DVD Player CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the DVD player self-test. If DTC B1317 is retrieved again, REFER to CHARGING SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION to diagnose the charging system. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
B1318 Battery Voltage Low DVD Player CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the DVD player self-test. If DTC B1318 is retrieved again, REFER to PINPOINT TEST A: THE BATTERY IS DISCHARGED OR BATTERY VOLTAGE IS LOW to diagnose the charging system. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
B1342 ECU is Faulted DVD Player CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the DVD player self-test. If DTC B1342 is retrieved again, REMOVE the DVD player. REFER to DIGITAL VERSATILE DISC (DVD) PLAYER . SEND it to an authorized audio system repair facility. REPEAT the self-test after the repair.
B2656 Digital Versatile Disc (DVD) Error DVD Player CLEAR the DTCs. INSERT a known good DVD. REPEAT the DVD player self-test. If DTC B2656 is retrieved again, REMOVE the DVD player. REFER to DIGITAL VERSATILE DISC (DVD) PLAYER . SEND it to an authorized audio system repair facility. REPEAT the self-test after the repair.
U0073 Control Module Communication BUS Off DVD Player REFER to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK to continue diagnosis of the communication network.
U1900 CAN Communication BUS Fault - Receiver Error DVD Player REFER to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK to continue diagnosis of the communication network.
