Removal and Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Ford Pickup, 2006 Ford F550 Super Duty, 2006 Ford F450 Super Duty, and 2006 Ford Cab & Chassis. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: New bolts must be installed, do not reuse the bolts that were removed. The stud and nut can be reused.
NOTE: Removing the rear seat requires more than one technician.

    Vehicles with second row center console 

  1. Remove the center console. For additional information, refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL AND CONSOLE .
  2. All vehicles 

  3. Remove the safety belt buckles from the retaining strap on both rear seats.

  4. Remove and discard the 2 seat riser-to-floor front bolts (1 shown).
    • To install, tighten to 55 Nm (41 lb-ft).

  5. Remove the 2 seat riser-to-floor rear nuts (1 shown).
    • To install, tighten to 55 Nm (41 lb-ft).

  6. Position the front seats forward for access to remove the rear seats.
  7. NOTE: Removing the rear seat requires more than one technician.
  8. Lift the rear seats off of the floor and rotate forward 180 degrees.
  9. Remove the seats from the vehicle.
  10. NOTE: Left seat shown, right seat similar.
  11. Remove the nuts for the seat riser on the affected seat.
    • To install, tighten to 50 Nm (37 lb-ft).

  12. Remove the 4 bolts for the affected seat.
    • To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).

  13. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • Make sure the safety belt is not twisted prior to installation.
    • Make sure the safety belts and buckles are accessible to the occupants after installation.
