Disassembly and Assembly

- Remove the front seat bench backrest. For additional information, refer to SEAT BACKREST - FRONT, BENCH .
- Remove both the recliner handle clips and remove the handles.
- Release the J-clip.
- Invert the backrest trim cover and release the first row of hook-and-loop strips.
- Invert the backrest trim cover up and release the second row of hook-and-loop strips and remove the backrest trim cover.
- Remove the backrest foam pad from the backrest frame assembly.
- Remove the 2 LH backrest recliner bolts.
- To install, tighten to 50 Nm (37 lb-ft).
- Remove the LH recliner latch and adjusting rod.
- Remove the LH recliner latch from the adjusting rod.
- Remove the recliner adjusting rod from the RH recliner latch and slide the adjusting rod out of the seat frame tubes.
- Remove the 2 RH backrest recliner bolts and remove the recliner latch.
- To install, tighten to 50 Nm (37 lb-ft).
- To assemble, reverse the disassembly procedure.
NOTE:
LH side shown, RH side similar.
CAUTION:
Use care when separating the seat back trim cover from the hook-and-loop strips or the hook-and-loop strips may be torn from the seat back foam.

NOTE:
During assembly, make sure the recliner latches are seated in the adjusting rod before installing the recliner latch bolts.
