NOTE:
The audio unit must be turned on and in tuner mode (AM/FM) to enter the speaker walk-around test or the self-diagnostic mode.
- To enter the speaker walk-around test, press and hold the preset buttons 3 and 6 simultaneously for approximately 1 second or more, then release.
- The speaker walk-around test mutes all speakers, then applies the currently received station to each speaker for 1.5 seconds. Each speaker is tested and shown in the display as follows:
- SPEAKER RF
- SPEAKER LF

- To exit the speaker walk-around test, turn the ignition switch to the OFF position, turn the audio unit off, or press preset button 1 to enter the self-diagnostic mode.
- While in the speaker walk-around test, the self-diagnostic mode has 6 manual tests available:
- Preset button 1 = AUDIO SUBSYSTEM SELF TEST. This test enters diagnosis from the speaker walk-around test.
- Preset button 2 = VIEW CONTINUOUS DTCS. This test displays any DTCs that have been logged by the audio unit. If the DTCs are related to the concern, GO to the AUDIO UNIT DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) INDEX .
- Preset button 3 = SIGNAL STRENGTH. This test displays the average signal strength of the currently tuned frequency.
- Preset button 4 = SOFTWARE CONFIGURATION LEVEL. This test queries each audio unit system controller for its software configuration level.
- Preset button 5 = RUN DISPLAY TEST. This test illuminates all the display segments for 5 seconds, then turns all segments off.
- Preset button 6 = VIEW CONFIGURATION STATUS. This test displays the configuration status of the audio unit.
- To exit the self-diagnostic mode, turn the ignition switch to the OFF position, or turn the audio unit off.
- If the concern remains and the fault is not detected, GO to SYMPTOM CHART .
NOTE:
If an error occurs during the radio self-test, the radio status display shows the appropriate failure message and exits the diagnostic mode.
