Removal and Installation

    All vehicles 

  1. Remove the driver air bag module. For additional information, refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM .

    2. Vehicles without remote audio controls 

  2. Release the tabs and remove the speed control switches.
    • Cut the wire ties.
    • Disconnect the electrical connector.

    3. Vehicles with remote audio controls 

    CAUTION: When removing the speed control switch, be careful not to damage the leather wrap tied around the switch.
  3. Cut the wire ties and remove the speed control switch.
    • Disconnect the electrical connectors.

    4. All vehicles 

    NOTE: New wire ties need to be installed when this procedure is complete to secure the steering wheel harness.
  4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
