Removal and Installation

    All vehicles 

  1. Disconnect the fluid level sensor connector.
  2. If equipped, disconnect the brake pressure switch and the trailer brake control transducer electrical connectors.
  3. Disconnect the brake tube-to-master cylinder fittings.
    • To install, tighten to 18 Nm (13 lb-ft).
  4. Vehicles with vacuum booster 

  5. Remove the brake master cylinder nuts and the brake master cylinder.
    • To install, tighten to 27 Nm (20 lb-ft).
  6. Vehicles with Hydro-Boost® 

  7. Remove the power steering tube bracket nuts and position the bracket aside.
    • To install, tighten to 27 Nm (20 lb-ft).
  8. Remove the brake master cylinder.
  9. All vehicles 

  10. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
