Crankshaft Pulley: Installation

    All vehicles 

    CAUTION: To prevent engine damage, you must always install 4 new bolts when installing the vibration damper.
    NOTE: Do not use anti-seize compounds, grease or any lubricants. Lubricants have an adverse effect on the torque results.
  1. Position the crankshaft pulley and install 4 new bolts in 2 stages, in the sequence shown.
    • Stage 1: Tighten to 68 Nm (50 lb-ft).
    • Stage 2: Tighten an additional 90 degrees.

  2. Rotate the tensioner clockwise and install the accessory drive belt.

  3. Vehicles with dual generator 

  4. Install the dual generator pulley and the 3 bolts.
    • Tighten to 47 Nm (35 lb-ft).
  5. Rotate the tensioner clockwise and install the dual generator accessory drive belt.

  6. All vehicles 

  7. Install the cooling fan stator. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
  8. Connect the battery LH and RH ground cable(s). For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
