Crankshaft Rear Seal with Retainer Plate: Removal

    All vehicles 

  1. Remove the oil pan. For additional information, refer to OIL PAN - AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION  or OIL PAN - MANUAL TRANSMISSION .

    2. Vehicles with automatic transmission 

  2. Align the engine mount studs and lower the engine.
  3. Remove the flexplate. For additional information, refer to FLEXPLATE .
  4. Using the special tools, remove the crankshaft oil slinger.
    • Discard the crankshaft oil slinger.

  5. Using the special tools, remove the crankshaft rear seal.
    • Discard the crankshaft rear seal.

  6. Remove the 6 bolts and the crankshaft rear seal retainer plate.
