Crankshaft Rear Seal With Retainer Plate: Removal

  1. Remove the flexplate or flywheel. For additional information, refer to FLEXPLATE  or FLYWHEEL .
  2. Using the special tools, remove the crankshaft oil slinger.
    • Discard the crankshaft oil slinger.

  3. Using the special tools, remove the crankshaft rear seal.
    • Discard the crankshaft rear seal.

  4. Remove the 2 oil pan-to-crankshaft rear seal retainer plate bolts.
  5. Remove the 6 bolts and the crankshaft rear seal retainer plate.
