Camshaft Roller Follower: Installation

    All camshaft roller followers 

    CAUTION: If the components are to be reinstalled, they must be installed into their original locations.
    NOTE: Lubricate the camshaft roller followers with clean engine oil prior to installation.

  1. Using the special tool, compress the valve spring and install the camshaft roller follower.
  2. Repeat the previous step for each camshaft roller follower being serviced.
  3. LH camshaft roller followers 

  4. Install the LH valve cover. For additional information, refer to VALVE COVER - LH .
  5. RH camshaft roller followers 

  6. Using the special tools, align the engine support insulator studs and lower the engine.

  7. CAUTION: Only use hand tools when installing the transmission mount-to-crossmember nuts or damage to the transmission mount can occur.
  8. Install the transmission mount-to-crossmember nuts.
    • Tighten to 103 Nm (76 lb-ft).

  9. CAUTION: Only use hand tools when installing the engine support insulator nuts or damage to the engine support insulators can occur.
    NOTE: RH shown, LH similar.
  10. Install the 6 RH and LH engine support insulator nuts.
    • Tighten to 103 Nm (76 lb-ft).

  11. Install the 4 exhaust manifold-to-exhaust Y-pipe nuts.
    • Tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).

  12. Install the RH valve cover. For additional information, refer to VALVE COVER - RH .
  13. Install the generator. For additional information, refer to GENERATOR AND REGULATOR .
  14. Install the cooling fan shroud. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
  15. Install the air cleaner and air cleaner air inlet tube. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION & FILTERING .
