Removal and Installation

  1. Drain the engine cooling system. For additional information, refer to COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDING .
  2. CAUTION: Do not loosen the block heater retaining screw more than necessary for removal.
  3. Loosen the block heater retaining screw and remove the block heater.
    • To install, tighten to 2 Nm (18 lb-in).
  4. NOTE: Route the block heater power cable away from hot or rotating components, or damage to the cable can occur.
  5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
