Transfer Case Rear Output Shaft Seal: Installation

  1. Using the special tools, install a new rear output seal.

  2. Install the rear flange and a new rear output nut.
    • Use the special tool to prevent the flange from turning.
    • Tighten to 251 Nm (186 lb-ft).

    3. CAUTION: Align the index marks.
  3. Connect the rear driveshaft to the transfer case.
  4. Install the 4 new bolts.
    • Tighten to 102 Nm (75 lb-ft).

  5. Check and, if necessary, fill the transfer case with the specified fluid to the specified level. For additional information, refer to TRANSFER CASE DRAINING AND FILLING .
  6. Lower the vehicle.
