Driveshaft - Rear, One-Piece, Rear Wheel Drive (RWD): Installation

    Vehicles with transmission slip yokes 

    NOTE: Align the index marks.
  1. Lubricate the slip-yoke spline with grease and position the slip yoke on the transmission output shaft.
  2. Vehicles with circular flange 

    NOTE: Align the index marks.
    NOTE: Bolt direction is vehicle application dependent.
  3. Position the driveshaft yoke on the transmission flange.
    • Tighten to 111 Nm (82 lb-ft).

  4. Vehicles with split pin yoke 

    NOTE: Align the index marks.
  5. Install the 2 new retainers and 4 new driveshaft-to-axle bolts.
    • Tighten to 35 Nm (26 lb-ft).

  6. Vehicles with circular flange 

  7. Install the 4 new bolts.
    • For automatic transmissions, tighten to 103 Nm (76 lb-ft).
    • For manual transmissions, tighten to 111 Nm (82 lb-ft).
