Removal and Installation

- Remove the wheel bearing and hub assembly. For additional information on the Dana axle, refer to WHEEL HUBS AND BEARINGS - FULL FLOATING AXLE - DANA . For additional information on the Ford axle, refer to REAR DRIVE AXLE/DIFFERENTIAL - FORD 10.50-INCH RING GEAR
- Remove the disc-to-hub bolts.
- To install, tighten to 121 Nm (89 lb-ft).
- Remove the anchor plate bolts and position the brake caliper and anchor plate assembly aside.
- Support the caliper and anchor plate using mechanic's wire.
- To install, tighten to 275 Nm (203 lb-ft).
- Separate the brake disc from the hub.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
Dual rear wheel brake disc
NOTE:
The brake disc is part of the hub on all dual rear wheel axle applications.
Single rear wheel brake disc
CAUTION:
Do not allow the brake caliper to hang from the brake hose or damage to the hose can occur.
