Removal and Installation

    Dual rear wheel brake disc 

    NOTE: The brake disc is part of the hub on all dual rear wheel axle applications.
  1. Remove the wheel bearing and hub assembly. For additional information on the Dana axle, refer to WHEEL HUBS AND BEARINGS - FULL FLOATING AXLE - DANA . For additional information on the Ford axle, refer to REAR DRIVE AXLE/DIFFERENTIAL - FORD 10.50-INCH RING GEAR
  2. Remove the disc-to-hub bolts.
    • To install, tighten to 121 Nm (89 lb-ft).
  3. Single rear wheel brake disc 

    CAUTION: Do not allow the brake caliper to hang from the brake hose or damage to the hose can occur.
  4. Remove the anchor plate bolts and position the brake caliper and anchor plate assembly aside.
    • Support the caliper and anchor plate using mechanic's wire.
    • To install, tighten to 275 Nm (203 lb-ft).
  5. Separate the brake disc from the hub.
  6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
