Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) Parameter Reset

Worldwide Diagnostic System (WDS)
Vehicle Communication Module (VCM) with appropriate adapters, or equivalent diagnostic tool
  1. Connect the diagnostic tool.
  2. Key in the ON position.
  3. Carry out the security access procedure for the PCM. For additional information, refer to ANTI-THEFT SECURITY ACCESS  in this article.
  4. NOTE: Do not carry out the ignition key code erase.
  5. Enter the powertrain control module (PCM) parameter reset mode on the diagnostic tool.
  6. Carry out the security access procedure for the transmission control module (TCM). For additional information, refer to ANTI-THEFT SECURITY ACCESS  in this article.
  7. Enter the TCM parameter reset mode on the diagnostic tool.
  8. Key in the OFF position for a minimum of 3 seconds.
  9. Key in the ON position for a minimum of 3 seconds.
  10. CLEAR the diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).
  11. Key in the OFF position for a minimum of 3 seconds.
