Symptom Chart

SYMPTOM CHART

Condition Possible Sources Action
  • Motor electronics cooling system (MECS) overheating
  • Clogged moter electronic (M/E) cooler or hoses.
  • INSPECT the M/E cooler and hoses for damage or plugging.
  • INSTALL a new M/E cooler or hoses as necessary.
  • M/E cooling system leaks.
  • INSPECT the M/E cooler and hoses for leaks. REPAIR or INSTALL new components as necessary.
  • M/E coolant pump does not operate
  • CHECK the M/E coolant pump secondary electrical system. GO to PINPOINT TEST A .
  • Radiator cooling fans.
  • Internal transaxle concerns.
  • M/E coolant pump runs continuously
  • Shorted circuit(s).
  • M/E coolant pump relay.
  • High MECS temperature.
