Test C: Power Door Locks Only Operate One Way

NOTE: After making any repairs, retest system for proper operation.
  1. Using driver's side power door lock switch, lock and unlock doors. If LOCK position is inoperative, go to next step. If UNLOCK position is inoperative, go to step  6.
  2. Remove driver's side door trim panel. Disconnect driver's side door lock switch harness connector C505. Measure resistance between ground and driver's side door lock switch harness connector C505 terminal No. 7 (Pink/Yellow wire). See Figure. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, go to step  5.
  3. Remove passenger's side door trim panel. Disconnect passenger's side door lock switch harness connector C605. Measure resistance between ground and driver's side door lock switch harness connector C505 terminal No. 7 (Pink/Yellow wire). See Figure. If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Pink/Yellow wire between passenger's side power door lock switch and driver's side power door lock switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
  4. Measure resistance between ground and passenger's side door lock switch harness connector C605 terminal No. 7 (Pink/Black wire). See Figure. If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, replace passenger's side power door lock switch. See POWER DOOR LOCK SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Pink/Black wire between passenger's side power door lock switch and driver's side power door lock switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
  5. Measure resistance between ground and driver's side door lock switch harness connector C505 terminal No. 8 (Black wire). See Figure. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace driver's side power door lock switch. See POWER DOOR LOCK SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Black wire between driver's side power door lock switch and ground. Ground point is located behind right kick panel. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
  6. Measure resistance between ground and driver's side door lock switch harness connector C505 terminal No. 3 (Pink/Light Green wire). See Figure. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, go to step  9.
  7. Disconnect passenger's side door lock switch harness connector C605. Measure resistance between ground and driver's side door lock switch harness connector C505 terminal No. 3 (Pink/Light Green wire). See Figure. If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Pink/Light Green wire between passenger's side power door lock switch and driver's side power door lock switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
  8. Measure resistance between ground and passenger's side door lock switch harness connector C605 terminal No. 3 (Pink/Orange wire). See Figure. If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, replace passenger's side power door lock switch. See POWER DOOR LOCK SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Pink/Orange wire between passenger's side power door lock switch and appropriate door lock actuator. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
  9. Measure resistance between ground and driver's side door lock switch harness connector C505 terminal No. 2 (Black wire). See Figure. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace driver's side power door lock switch. See POWER DOOR LOCK SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Black wire between driver's side power door lock switch and ground. Ground point is located behind right kick panel. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
