Pinpoint Test T: The Parking, Rear Or License Plate Lamps Are On Continuously

  1. T1 CHECK THE MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH 
    • Disconnect: Multifunction Switch C2080.
    • Do the parking lamps continue to illuminate? 

    Yes:  GO to  T2.

    No:  INSTALL a new multifunction switch. REFER to STEERING COLUMN MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH . CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.

  2. T2 CHECK CIRCUIT 1032 (WH/BK) FOR A SHORT TO GROUND 
    • Disconnect: SJB C2280e.
    • Do the parking lamps continue to illuminate? 

    Yes:  GO to  T3.

    No:  REPAIR the circuit. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.

  3. T3 CHECK THE PARKING LAMP RELAY OUTPUT 
    • Disconnect: Parking Lamp Relay 32059.
    • Do the parking lamps continue to illuminate? 

    Yes:  GO to  T5.

    No:  GO to  T4.

  4. T4 CHECK THE PARKING LAMP RELAY 

    Yes:  GO to  T7.

    No:  INSTALL a new parking lamp relay. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.

  5. T5 CHECK THE REAR PARKING LAMPS CIRCUITRY FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE 
    • Disconnect: SJB C2280c.
    • Do the rear parking lamps continue to illuminate? 

    Yes:  REPAIR circuit 14 (BN). CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.

    No:  GO to  T6.

  6. T6 CHECK THE FRONT PARKING LAMPS CIRCUITRY FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE 
    • Disconnect: SJB C2280b.
    • Do the front parking lamps continue to illuminate? 

    Yes:  REPAIR circuit 14 (BN). CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.

    No:  GO to  T7.

  7. T7 CHECK FOR CORRECT SJB OPERATION 
    • Disconnect all the SJB connectors.
    • Check for:
      • corrosion
      • pushed-out pins
    • Connect all the SJB connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
    • Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
    • Is the concern still present? 

    Yes:  INSTALL a new SJB. REFER to SMART JUNCTION BOX (SJB) . TEST the system for normal operation.

    No:  The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
